It was NYC in the early 80’s – everything was booming– music, drugs, sex, John Gotti and the mafia. And with that backdrop, the largest cash heist in U.S. history went down – TWELVE MILLION DOLLARS - stolen right out the back door of the Sentry Armored Car Company HQ in the Bronx. The guys who did the job were a bunch of young, working-class Greek immigrants. They eventually all got caught, went to jail – yet in the end, you might say that one man – Chris Potamitis - did get away with it – for to this day, OVER TEN MILLION DOLLARS has never been recovered! But what makes this true heist story so unique
is that at it’s heart, it’s really the story of the American Dream – and how trying to take a shortcut to that dream would affect both Chris and his lifelong best friend, Eddie – it would test their loyalty, ruin their friendship – but when it was all said and done years later, Chris would help save Eddie’s life. It’s also about Chris and his Dad – a father and son once so close, and the love it would take to repair that. And lastly for Chris, he’d find out that inherently good guys like himself – even after making some very bad decisions – can get a second chance in life - and Chris would make sure he made the most of his.
